The smallest useful unit is reviewable structure: one trace and (optionally) one claim edit.
Choose your role
Clinicians: record traces of real decision paths.
Researchers / validators: confirm, correct, or reject extracted claims.
Engineers: build extraction, review, and query tooling.
Patients & advocates: test whether the structure serves the people it claims to serve.
The Starter Ritual (30–60 minutes)
- Pick one paper in your domain.
- Write one claim sentence (the assertion).
- Attach evidence (link + short excerpt).
- Add constraints (where it holds, where it fails).
- Record a trace (search → evaluation → decision → why).
- Submit as a Proof Request (reviewable change).
Proof Requests
A Proof Request is the unit of review: a proposed change to a claim or trace with rationale and links. Practically, it maps to a Git pull request.
The public repo is not live yet. When it is, this page will link directly to templates for opening Proof Requests.
Canonical registries (live on this site)
- /vigil/claims.json — structured claims referenced from the essay
- /vigil/sources.json — canonical source registry (DOI/PubMed/official URLs)
- /vigil/trails.json — traces (research, propagation, revision)
The long-term goal is that contributions land as diffs against these registries, reviewed like pull requests for knowledge.
